Alliance 60-70

Level Sixty to Sixty One

To start off, save yourself a little bit of time and pick up the Nethergarde Bitter from Nethergarde keep on your way to Outland. Why? Well a quest requires it and it's really annoying to walk all the way back to Nethergarde to pick it up.

Start off by picking up the quest "Through the Dark Portal" at the entrance of the Dark Portal just outside of it. Go to Commander Duron who is on the otherside of the portal and turn it in and accept "Arrivial in Outland". Take the Griffon to Honor Hold while accepting "Journey to Honor Hold".. Once at Honor Hold turn in "Journey to Honor Hold" and pick up "Force Commander Danath". Head to the castle and turn in "Force Commander Danath" and pick up "The Legion Reborn" and "Know Your Enemy"

Head out of Honor Hold towards about 51,60ish where there is a tower. Turn in "Know your Enemy" and pick up "Fel Orc Scavengers" along with "Waste not, Want not". Then head to 61,59 and turn in "The Legion Reborn" and pick up "The Path of Anguish".

At about 60,50 there is a large group of Bonechewer Orcs along with tons of broken machine parts. Pick up the machine parts while killing orcs at the same time to get two of these quests done at once.

Next up demons need to be slayed. Head to 68,55 or 65,45 and kill a Dreadcaller, 6 Infernal Warbringers, and 4 Flamewalker Imps. This is for "The Path of Anguish" and can be kind of hard since you may get a good deal of enemies on you at one time from spawns and pathing. Afterwards head back to 61,59 and turn "The Path of Anguish" while picking up "Expedition Point". Then head for 71,61.

At the "Expedition Point" (it's the broken Felreaver with the all the Alliance on it) turn in "Expedition Point"while picking up "Disrupt Their Reinforcements". Go north east and kill demons at 71,56 for 8 Demonic Rune Stones. Afterwards use the dynamite you were given on the portals at 72,58 and 71,55.

Head back to 71,61 and turn in "Disrupt Their Reinforcements". Then accept "Mission: The Murketh and Shaadraz Gateways". This is the bombing run, so be ready for some fun! Talk with Wing Commander Dabir'ee who will put you on an armored gryphon. When you're flying, you'll fly over a portal. Click on the bomb when you get over it and the circle will turn green. Take out both portals and return and turn in "Mission: The Murketh and Shaadraz Gateways". Then accept "Shatter Point" and get on the gryphon again. This time you'll fly to a floating Island near the Dark Portal.

At Shatter Point accept "Wing Commander Gryphongar" and "Mission: The Abyssal Shelf" and "Got o the Front" (the later two are obtained at a tower). Pick up "Return to the Abyssal Shelf" from Gryphoneer Windbellow and fly out to Force Camp Front.

At Force Camp Front turn in "Go to the Front" and pick up "Forge Base Mageddon" only if you have a group to help you with it. Return to Shatter Point and then fly from the real Gryphon Master to Honor Hold.

Accept "The Longbeards" and "An Old Gift" from the inn and "The Path of Glory" along with "Weaken the Ramparts" from the castle. "Weaken the Ramparts" is an instance quest, so only get it if you plan to run some of Hellfire Citadel. At an exterior tower you can turn in "Waste Not, Want Not" and pick up "Laying Waste to to the Unwanted" along with being able to turn in "Fel Orc Scavanegers" and picking up "Ill Omens" along with "Unyielding Souls". That's a ton of quests!

Head to the Gan'arg cave which is nearby the tower (you can't miss it) where you'll find "This Caves-a-Rocking" and "A Job for an Intelligent man. Kill Sappers until the quest is done then return to pick up "The Mastermind" which involves killing Z'kral. You can probably solo him or just grab a help of a friend.

Outside of the cave is time for one of the most annoying starter quests ever... "A Job for an Intelligent Man". All outside the cave and across the gash are these things of rolling dirt which you need to kill. This may take awhile... don't bother with hellboars if you've picked up a hellboar quest yet, those are to be done later.

Head on out to the Zeppelin Crash at 49,75 and accept "Incase of Emergency..." and "Ravager Egg Roundup". For the first you'll find the debris all over the place near the Zepplin. Go ahead and get the parts now. For the second, we'll do it later.

Head down to the Armory which is near 53,83 and kill the various ghosts for "Unyielding Souls". There is a busted house to the south of the armory which is near the edge of the world for "An Old Gift". Be careful here, some of the ghosts are VERY annoying like the knights who will charge you. This is worse on a PvP server.

Zeth'gor time, head out to 69,75 and kill the various orcs there for one single cursed talisman. I got mine on the first try, results may vary. Return to the expedition and pick up "Cursed Talismans". Personally I did this now on my Paladin but you can hold off till later if there isn't enough people clearing the camp out where you can easily get to the various spawns.

Head northward to the Path of Glory (the long road between the citadel and the Dark Portal). Here you want to blow up the catapults near the entrance to the portal and pick up 8 skulls. Both quests are easy if you can distract the orcs to blow up the catapults and if no one is ganking you on the road.

Now turn in all of the quests near HH (Honor Hold) and pick up "The Temple of Telhamat" and "Looking to the Leadership". Be sure to turn in the quest at the entrance to the mine.

Now head off to the Temple of Telhamat which is at north west part of the zone around 22,40.

Level Sixty and a half to Sixty One

Head to the Temple of Telhamat which is at 23,41 in the top left hand corner of Hellfire Penninsula. There are only a few quests available here now, but more will grow soon enough. Start off by scouring the town and picking up “Deadly Predators”, “In Search of Sedai”, “Cruel Taskmasters”, and “The Pools of Aggonar”. Turn in “The Temple of Telhamat” while you’re here. Services offered in this town are like most other semi-major towns. There is a Hippogryph Master (be sure to get the flight Point), a Medic named Burko who sells First Aid Books, food/drinks/reagents, and various quest NPCs.

If you met Kuma, the Hippogryph Master, then you’re in luck. Our next location is east (jumping down away from the temple) towards 25,37. There is a corpse of a dead Dreanei here named Sedai who will give you the quest “Return to Obadei”. From here you simply return to town and pick up “Makuru’s Vengeance”. This quest line is a really good look at the hypocritical attitude Draenei have towards vengeance and justice.

Head out of town towards where Sedai was and follow the path upward into the Mag’Har village. Kill orcs until you have ten of their necklaces. Then you get to head eastward towards 37,42 to complete “The Pools of Aggonar”. When both of these are done return to the temple and pick up “Atonement” (oops shouldn’t have killed those orcs! at least lore wise anyway) and “Cleansing the Waters”. Turn in “Atonement” in town for the quest “Shanaar Relics”. At this point I suggest taking a little break, restocking, and anything else you need to get done.

Head out to the Cenarion Post which is a little southwest of the temple (hrm, 14,51) and turn in the quest “Missing Missive”. You can pick up a few quests here, but we’ll worry about them a little bit later. Right now head for The Ruins of Shanaar (which is a little south of the outpost) and kill Taskmasters for the “Cruel Taskmasters” quest. You probably want to bring a friend along with you to get this as done as fast as possible and for the second part. See there is a lengthy quest here the starts from one of the elders in a hut (16,65) do all of the quests (good XP and you can kill Taskmasters while doing it) and you’ll fight an elite. Use the rod to remove his elite status and he’s pretty much cake. I had a friend help me with it though. Be sure to pick up enough Sha’naar Relics for “Sha’naar Relics”!

Head south towards 23,74 where a small Dwarven settlement is at (anyone remembering Westfall?) and turn in the quest “The Longbeards”. You’ll get three new quests: “Rampaging Ravagers”, “The Arokkoa thread”, and “Gaining Mirren’s Trust”. By now you should be friendly with Honor Hold and if you followed earlier instructions you have the Nethergarde Bitter. If you aren’t friendly yet (not enough questing!) or don’t have the Bitter then go obtain them and return so you can get “The Finest Down”. The reason why is that “The Finest Down” is part of a chain of quests coming up you can complete all at once.

Ravagers, Haal’eshi Talonguards, Windwalkers, Kaliri Nests and Avruu are all really close nearby. Look up the quests and get them down, running back to the camp to turn in all the quests. Now head east from the Haal’eshi valley and kill stonescythes. At 39,86 there are more ravagers and ravager eggs. Pick them all up and get the stonescythes slain.

You should technically be 61 by now. One more level in Hellfire then we move on!

Go to 49,74 and turn in “Ravager Egg Roundup” and “In Case of Emergency…” and pick up “Helboar, the Other White meat” and “Voidwalkers Gone Wild”. Get ready for a long grind, the Hellboar meat purification has about a half and half chance of working and Helboars are annoying to kill. It’s good grinding XP though. The warp fields are at 47,80 and you can just kill Voidwalkers pretty easily. You’ll be close to the Armory so go ahead and take out Thalvos and Xintor around 53,80. Head back to the Zepplin and turn in your quests.

Head back to Telhamat and turn in all your quests while getting “Helping the Cenarion Post”, “The Seer’s Relic” and “An Ambitious Plan”. Jump down eastward and head to Sedai’s Corpse to use the Seer’s Relic. Afterwards head to the The Pools of Aggonar with a friend and take out Aggonar. I think I solo’d him, but he was pretty tough. Turn ‘em both in then head to Honor Hold.

Level Sixty One to Sixty Two

At Honor Hold you’re going to want to return to the western tower and pick up “Looking to the Leadership”.

Now, head back to the warp fields and find an Uncontrolled Voidwalker. You just need to get it to about 1/4th of its HP then use the crystal. Congratulations you’ve just finished one of the easiest quest parts ever. Now head over to Zeth’Gor to the east and kill all the Orcs for their cursed talismans. This is a REALLY REALLY REALLY bad drop rate unless you luck up, so this is pretty much that sweet grinded XP that puts you ahead of other quests.

Turn it back in at the expedition point then accept the follow up called “Warlord of the Bleeding hollow”. Guess what? Boss time! Return to the Orc encampment and head to the circular Orc hut in the middle. What I did was run in there and die, then rez in a safe place to clear near a door and fight the guy. He was pretty easy to me, but you may have different results.

Return to the temple (after turning that quest in) in order to turn in “An Ambitious Plan”. You’re getting close to done with Hellfire Penninsula! Head to the Cenarion Post at 15,52 and accept all of the quests there. They have “Keep Thornpoint Hill Clear!”, “Helping the Cenarion Post”, “Demonic Contamination” and “Colossal Menace” which you may want to come back and solo later.

Rest of your current time in Hellfire Peninsula will either be instances or these quests. So let’s get started with the quests first. You’re going to want to take out the Hulking Helboars near the temple (eastward) which when enough blood is collected you’ll be able to turn it in for “testing the Antidote”. Use is on a Hulking Helboar and then fight a super Helboar. Haha! Guess it didn’t work. Head back to the Cenarion Outpost for your reward. Now then…

Go to Thornpoint Hill and kill the Ravagers. Well… the rest of the quests we’ll finish later or in another zone. The thing here is that you need to be sixty two to start Zangarmarsh proper. You’ve got a few choices. If you’re not already sixty two (which would surprise me), go and do the instances. Head back to Honor Hold and load up on instance quests then run Ramparts and Blood Furnace. The other option is just grind easy to kill stuff. Anyway your goal is sixty two. Get there.

Head back to Ironforge and train up. If you’re a savvy Outlander you’ve got a bind at Shattrath. If not, then well just get to whatever major city and train your skills as you’ll need them. Buy food, get drinks, whatever you need.

Next up, walk your character to Zangarmarsh. Zangarmarsh is just following the road west out of Hellfire Peninsula. Now, when you get to Zangarmarsh you can get two very important flightpaths.

There is no flightpath at the Cenarion Outpost. As Alliance you’re going to want to head to Orebor Harborage which is located at 47,27 or along the northwall and the entrance to Blade’s Edge Mountains for the Alliance. This is the only Zangarmarsh fp for the Alliance so it’s best to grab it now. You can get it when you come to this village soon, or you can have it available if you need to head somewhere else and get back to work in Zangarmarsh.

The second flightpath is Shattrath City. From the Cenarion Refuge head south down the road to Teokkar. Follow the signs to Shattrath City, you can’t miss it.

Level Sixty Two to Sixty Two and a Half

When you first enter Zangarmarsh you should find two NPCs who offer quests. Pick them up (“The Umbrafen Tribe” and “Plants of Zangarmarsh”) then explore town to pick up “A Warm Welcome” and “The Dying Balance” and “Disturbance at Umbrafen Lake” which is gotten after you turn in “The Cenarion Expedition”.

Suit up and head out. The first thing we’ll take out is Boglash, the level 62 elite that’s a tad south of the Cenarion Refuge. As an elite I found him REALLY weak and if you get in trouble you’re close enough to town to run away. Next up we’ll wander around a bit killing various enemies in the nearby area for “Plants of Zangarmarsh”. They drop plant parts which help us complete the quest. It’s best to just kill everything on the way to our next location, 82,80 where you should complete the quest “The Umbrafen Tribe”. There is an escort here too, go ahead and do it.

Head back to town, killing mobs on the way until you finish getting your plants. Get back to town and accept “A Damp, Dark Place” and “Uncatalogued Species” along with “Saving the Sporeloks” AND finally “Safeguarding the Watchers”.

Head back out but this time west toward The Lagoon at 64,64. Kill the nagas here then go to 70,80 to complete “Disturbance at Umbrafen Lake”. Now head out to Funggor Cave which is at 74,90 (not far off). In the cave follow the RIGHT path while killing enemies to get Ikeyen’s Belongings (which at are 70,97 INSIDE the cave). At the end of the cave there will be Lord Klaq who was REALLY easy for me. Head back to the refuge (hearthing is a good option if all quests are done).

Turn in all of those quests and accept the quest “As the Crow Flies”. Complete it and then go about getting the rest of the quests: “Balance Must Be Preserved” and “Blessings of the Ancient”. Now head to 70,80 again and use the seeds which should spawn a guard who will drop “Drain Schematics”. Then head 63,34 to finish “Balance Must Be Preserved”.

Next stop, the glorious city of Telredor which is at 69,49. Lots to do here, but most importantly (if you haven’t already) get the flight point! Forgetting would be pretty annoying if you needed to go to Ironforge then get back to Zangarmarsh. Pick up the quests: “The Orebor Harborage”, “Unfinished Business”, “The Dead Mire”, “The Bohamu Ruins”, “The Fat of Tuurem”, “Fulgor Spores”, “Menacing Marshfangs”, and finally “Too Many Mouths to Feed”.

Head out towards the north east (not far from town) to pick up spores and kill Marshfang Rippers. Nearby at 80,43 you’ll find a pile of dirt for another quest. Return to Umbrafen Lake and kill Mire Hydras and Eels. Return to the refuge and turn in a few quests and plant parts if you have enough (you should always turn in plant parts for rep!)

At this point I suggest taking a break, restocking, and getting yourself some rest. You should be about 50% into level 62 so you’re almost to level 63.

Level Sixty Two and a Half to Sixty Three

Head out north of town and kill the giants here for “An Unnatural Drought”. At the same time kill Boglords for their tendrils. You’re going to want six of these because they’re for a quest later on. You should also get a Withered Basidium while you’re here for the quest of the same name. Return to town and turn in your quests while picking up “Diaphanous Wings” which is completed by killing fireflies. This can be done during your future journeys, just kill any you see in your way.

Next up run to the Northwest of the zone near 60,39 and use the seed given to you to complete the quest “Balance Must Be Preserved”. That was easy enough, so head on south to 60,70 and kill Blacksting for “Blacksting’s Bane”. From there head southwest to the Boha’mu Ruins. There is an upstairs in a building that you need to just simply walk through to complete the quest. West of here is an enemy known as “Count Ungula”. Kill it, you need the item it drops to start the quest “The Count of the Marshes”.

There is a watchpost at 22,65 which will let you turn in the count quest. Pick up “Observing the Sporelings” and then head west to 20,65 to Fahssn who will give you “The Sporelings Plight” and “Natural Enemies”. The later can be completed (and repeated) by turning in the tendrils we got earlier. Glad you got them then huh.

Head west to 13,61 where you can complete “Observing the Sporelings” by simply walking around. While here kill Mature Spore Sacs for “The Sporelings Plight” which should be returned to Fahssn right after you complete it.

Return to Fahssn, get “Sporeggar” then go to the watchpost and pick up “A Question of Gluttony” after you turn in any quests there. Head west to complete “A Question of Gluttony” which you can then return and pick up “Familiar Fungi”.

Head to Sporeggar which is at 20,60 and pick up “Glowcap Mushrooms (which you could have repeated by now if you picked up the glowcaps)”, Fertile Spores”, and “Now That We’re Friends…”

Go NW to 25,42 and complete “Now That We’re Friends…” then return to town to turn it in. Head North of here to Orebore Harborage and pick up “Ango’Rosh Encroachment”, “Daggerfen Deviance”, and “Wanted: Chieftain Mummaki”.

Southwest of town is the Hewn Bog, right dab outside of down. Kill the ogres here to get mushroom samples which complete two quests at once. Then head west to Daggerfen Villege (no far) and get the manuel and kill things. Mummaki is also here if you want to get that one done with, but you may want a friend as his servants heal him and he can vanish.

Return to Orebor Harborage and turn in your quests. Congratulations, you should be level 63 by now. If not, then well… grind away XP or run some more instances until 63. The rest of the progression really depends on you being level 63 so roll up those sleeves and get that XP!<

stay tunned more will be added every week
